Tracy Redies, the Liberal MLA for Surrey-White Rock, has been hospitalized for a heart condition.
Redies posted on her Facebook page on the weekend that she was admitted to Peace Arch Hospital (PAH) with congestive heart failure, possibly from a recent trip to South America.
“I am in PAH with congestive heart failure and acute hepatitis brought on by a virus they are trying to find, likely picked up while I was in Brazil,” Redies writes on her social media profile. “Your thoughts and prayers are appreciated – this could be a long road. I am having trouble even texting, so apologies in advance if I can’t reply.”
Redies was formerly the CEO of Coast Capital Savings until 2017, when she was elected to the Surrey-White Rock riding to fill a seat left vacant by Gordon Hogg.
She is married with four children.
We will update this as we have more information.
