On Monday Pulse Mornings welcomed Incumbent Coquitlam Mayor Richard Stewart and Mayoral Candidate Adel Gamar for day one of our Mayoral Candidate Conversations taking place over the next two weeks on Pulse 107.7 FM.
Topics in the discussion, moderated by Pulse Morning’s Ian Power, ranged from what the premise of their platform is and what they believe is the biggest issue in Coquitlam heading into the municipal election, steps they would take to reduce the homeless population in the city and whether they support switching to a local police force or staying with the RCMP.
Stewart and Gamar were also asked their thoughts on the retailing, distribution and law enforcement of recreational marijuana, how they plan to keep property taxes within the rate of inflation or less and finally what’s one of their favourite restaurants in Coquitlam.
Stewart loves Filipino restaurant Kulinarya, Gamar loves Pasta Polo.
