The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) is requesting public assistance to further its investigation into the homicide of a Maple Ridge man.
On November 18, 2018 at 11:28 a.m., the Ridge Meadows RCMP and other first responders were called to the 22000-block of Wharf Street in Maple Ridge, beneath the Golden Ears Bridge, for a report of a man found dead. Officers determined that the man, later identified as 43-year-old Chad Wilson of Maple Ridge, was a victim of homicide.
IHIT took conduct of the investigation and continues to work closely with the Ridge Meadows RCMP, the Integrated Forensic Identification Services and the B.C. Coroners Service to gather evidence.
Mr. Wilson was a well-established member of an organized crime group and it is believed that his homicide was not random. IHIT will be engaging with numerous gang enforcement units throughout the lower mainland region that will be working to mitigate any ongoing violence.
Anyone with information, who have yet to come forward to police, is asked to call the IHIT information line at 1-877-551-IHIT (4448) or by email at ihitinfo@rcmp-grc.gc.ca
