The popular online fashion brand, Fashion Nova, recently came under fire online via Twitter user Azia Ani (@aziaani_), after she discovered a disturbing warning label on a neon-green swimsuit she had recently purchased.

The warning tag on the bikini says “this product can expose you to Di(2ethylhexyl) phthalate, lead and cadmium, which are known to the state of California to cause cancer, birth defects, and other reproductive harm”. It then goes on to redirect the reader to a website for more information on the topic.
With the tweet receiving more than 7,000 retweets, the widespread attention it’s received has garnered its fair share of attention online.
It certainly does shine a light on the importance of reading warning labels before purchasing items, especially on fast fashion brands
